Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.
On Sunday Feb 5th and 12th, our youth will be playing for the 2012 Souper Bowl of Caring by asking for donations to alleviate hunger in our community. Even a dollar donation will help. So during the next two Sundays, look for one of our students holding a soup pot to collect your donations. All donations will be given to Urbana Food Bank.
Join our treasure hunt (funded by the FPUMC Mission Budget) to buy much needed supplies to benefit the residents of Hope Alive Center in Sabillasville, MD, a local mission dedicated to providing shelter to women and their school age children.
When: Feb 19, 2012, 11:15am (right after church) Where: Meet at UMS right after church then we will regroup in the lobby at Walmart (on 85) at the greenhouse/nursery entrance for final treasure hunt instructions.
